Suited For: Common Man
The book was embodied in a navy blue hardcover with the words written in a clean white Helvetica-like font (as one would expect from a grooming book). It's available now for $30 and would make an interesting gift [for your husband, boyfriend, dad, male friend, heck a female friend] just in time for the holidays. As loyal followers of ManPossible, you all know the importance of maintaining and grooming yourself and taking pride in not only how you appear, but in the way you feel. Chris does a good job of dispensing and tailoring grooming guidance to fit a man's daily grooming needs.
Part 2, the meat of the book, details out the grooming needs for five different types of men: - The Modern Gentleman: What it takes to be a polished and on point today - The Hands-On man: How-To's and hacks for the guy who gets things done - The Extreme Dude: Practical advice for the man who pushes limits - The Rebel Artist: A few rules for thriving against the grain - The Renaissance Man: A thoughtful approach to maintaining body and soul In short, it's filled with relatively honest and straight to the point tips all men can benefit from. It also features interviews with real men - that makes it interesting from a practical perspective. One surprising aspect of the book is that aside from Kiehl's visual mention and logo print on the cover of the book, the book does a great job of staying product agnostic (to my surprise, it really did not push for Kiehl's products). Great job! This book is sure to make a great coffee table book... I mean a bathroom countertop read... and is a book that you can actually use, daily... just don't forget to entertain your guests in your bathroom. by ManPossible ![]() What is a Man Bun? Several weeks ago we received an email from our friends at Kiehl’s (yes, we have friends in high grooming places!). The lovely folks over at Kiehl’s kindly extended the invitation to ManPossible for their upcoming PRIVATE Kiehl’s Earth Day celebration event where they unveiled an environmental partnership featuring a Limited Edition Collection of Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado (with 100% of net proceeds benefitting Recycle Across America - “dedicated to simplifying the act of recycling for the general public to help them recycle more and help them recycle right”). As if free food and alcohol wasn’t enough to convince us, the party also solicited the help of two beautiful ladies: Maggie Q and Elizabeth Olsen! SAY WHAT?!?!?! Talk about a dinner and a movie: #Win #ManPossibleNite!
The event was located at the Kiehl’s Santa Monica store. When we got there, the place was pretty much packed. The lovely Kiehl’s receptionists greeted us at the door. Upon entering we saw a branded backdrop and red carpet to the left where other media partners and photographers were busy adoring the celebrity appearances. On the right was a live DJ, Taryn Manning, going hard on her soundboard and turntables. Further within the store was the bar in which Tito’s Vodka was busy serving consumable art. Among many Kiehl’s product displays, right at the center of the store, the team proudly housed a display table on which rested the Limited Edition Collection Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. A closer look at the table revealed various popup flyers explaining the product as well as the purpose of the celebration. At a glance, we noticed that the Creamy Eye Treatment came in two Limited Edition Label Art designs. Each container sported its own unique graphic and the name of the celebrity that helped come up with the design (Maggie Q and Elizabeth Olsen). After a brief conversation with the PR director we learned that the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment has been a long standing product. The collaboration with both Maggie Q and Elizabeth Olsen is to help raise funds for a great cause. 100% of all net proceeds from the Limited Edition jars sales will go to Recycle Across America. Notice how we didn’t spend all this time dissecting and analyzing the product itself (like we’d do normally)? That is because the purpose of this article is to bring awareness to a bigger cause. That was something we were quite pleased about the Kiehl’s event. The folks at Kiehl’s focused the event on the cause rather than trying to push their products. The entire event happened within a 2 hour timeframe, 1 hour of which was dedicated to mingling and networking. During the latter hour, the director of PR for Kiehl’s explained that being a product manufacturer, Kiehl’s understands that their product packaging and manufacturing process results in a lot of waste. As an environmentally conscious brand, Kiehl’s is not only dedicated to creating the best products, but also wants to contribute to help sustain the environment we all live in. They then gave the spotlight to the founder of Recycle Across America, Michelle "Mitch" Hedlund who shared her insights about the organization and how this collaborative effort can help provide 65,000 free standardized labels to the U.S. schools. By the end of her speech, Kiehl’s presented Michelle with a $50,000 check to help with this important cause! We’d like to take this time to thank all the lovely and beautiful folks at Kiehl’s for their hospitality and also for their social responsibility of giving back to a good cause. We were impressed by their conscious effort in helping to preserve a future for you, me, and everyone else. Just know that Captain Planet and all of us at ManPossible are proud of your actions. As for all of you amazing readers, your can find the Limited Edition Label Art Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado here: Maggie Q and Elizabeth Olsen. Remember, you don’t need to print this article.
