Man Cave Nirvana

Imagine the perfect hangout spot where guys can engage in their typical dude convos, watch sports, tell jokes… you know, do the normal “guy” thing… all while getting their nails done?  Wait.  What!  Yes, you heard that right, all while getting their nails done.  No haircuts, no beard trims, just nails.  

That’s exactly what Michael Elliot, an entrepreneur and award winning screenwriter has built.  Welcome to Hammer & Nails my friends, a nail salon located in Los Angeles, catering specifically to men who enjoy that man cave atmosphere alongside the iconic smell of leather and rich mahogany, surrounded by other testosterone, all while getting their nails done.  Finally, a spot that perfectly aligns the word “man” in “manicure” and guys can go and get their nails pampered and don’t have to feel uncomfortable being around women clientele sneaking looks at the pink elephant in the room.

There are a decent number of guys and male celebrities (which include athletes and public figures) are regularly spotted getting their man-i and pedi’s on.  What do all these guys have in common besides properly cared for cuticles?  They dislike getting “judged” for “grooming” their nails.  In 2012, while getting a manicure in a typical nail salon, Michael just wasn't digging it and decided that he wanted to enjoy some pampering in a place that catered specifically to men and that is exactly how Hammer & Nails concept began.

The only location at the moment opened its doors back in 2013 and offers beverages, comfortable leather chairs, a remote to your own 32 inch flat screen TV so you can enjoy watching whatever you wish all while having your finger and toe nails pampered by the professional female technicians.  If you are curious as to what theses female technicians are wearing during the normal business hours… we’re told it’s the industry standard dress attire for a salon.  Yea…OK, moving on.  If you are an avid watcher of Shark Tank, Michael Elliot pitched the salon idea to Mark Cuban and his gang back during the premier of Season 6 in case you missed it.

We’re actually pretty thrilled with the idea of having a nail salon catering specifically to males.  So fellas, there you have it.  If you are in LA and want to get your man-i right or if you’re in the mood to play footsie with a lady without having to worry that your big toe nail will gaze flesh from her feet, stop by Hammer & Nails and show them what you’re working with.
