So how does one discover the holy grail of all lotions aka crèmes?  Easy, you go to where some of the best dermatologists in the country practice, which is in Beverly Hills, CA...
Understanding your skin may be the most critical element of keeping it healthy and we would be lying if we told you that that’s not the mantra which Avène swears well by; too well perhaps.  And with its main ingredient – thermal spring water – sourced from the Cévennes Mountains in none other than Avène France, Avène’s lineup of products demonstrate nothing less than superiority when it comes to skin rejuvenation.  Since 1974, their dermatologists have been studying the properties of the mountain spring water at the Avène Dermatological Hydrotherapy Center allowing them to acquire a perfectly balanced mineral composition resulting in healing concentrations which are the foundation for all Avène skin products.

These guys literally know how to get under your skin.  It’s well known that their effective soothing and calming formulas in their products address a multitude of skin concerns, and we have yet to come across a better all around soothing lotion ore “crème” for that matter than the Avène’s Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream, which we will be covering today.

Many enthusiasts would agree that Avène’s Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream is perhaps one of the most technologically advanced skin restorative cream available on the market.  It’s clinically proven to help speed the recovery process by maintaining an optimal healing environment for the skin.  It can be used to treat cuts, burns, cracked skin, diaper rash and other forms of skin discomfort.  The formula also improves the appearance of scarring and it’s suitable for infants, children and adults on top of that, its fragrance, paraben, gluten and cruelty free.  Oh yea, it’s hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic as well.  If you ask us, this crème appears to be the all-in-one antidote for treating everything “skin” as was Windex, the popular window cleaner, to Gus, Toula’s father in the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding (MBFGW).  Gus used Windex as a remedy for everything including treating cuts, scrapes and even cold sores.  Oh man, just thinking of MBFGW brings back so many memories of 2002, doesn’t it?  No?  Ok, maybe it’s just us then…

So how does one discover the holy grail of all lotions aka crèmes?  Easy, you go to where some of the best dermatologists in the country practice, which is in Beverly Hills, CA and you ask them what all-purpose lotion they recommend and that precisely is how we discovered Avène’s Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream.  In fact, we were put on a one month waiting list because their stock ran out.  At first, we didn't know of Avène brand so we didn’t think anything of it only that it was highly recommended by a well sought after dermatologists, and we thought, hell it must be really good; and it was.  It’s got a medium creamy texture and spreads nicely and evenly on the skin leaving it feeling great and refreshed.  We've tried it as a morning face lotion, night face lotion and an after sun lotion and boy were we impressed…, so impressed that we are looking forward to trying some of the other highly sought after Avène products.  If you can’t make it to Beverly Hills, that’s ok, you can find the crème online through a few retailers at a great price (around $20 MSRP for a 1.4 oz tube), considering its hype.  So the next time you are out-and-about and are in need of an all-purpose “crème” (in a French accent), look no further than Avène’s Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream.  Keep your skin hydrated my friends!
