For us, ManPossible is a symbol, an institution and more importantly, a belief. An oasis born simply because the voices of the individual are being drowned out by the mundane and lifeless cycle we live in. To me, ManPossible is a representation of the true (American) Dream. An establishment built on the sole purpose of doing what we do, and being the voice of the Average Joe.
“You are very well groomed and dressed. You are a metro sexual”. I was taken aback by this comment, given by a girl who I’d have been having a conversation with at a nonprofit event. “I’ll show you who’s metro sexual… Bang!” A week later that female became my (current) girlfriend. Although that’s not really how it went down, the thought that came to my mind when my current girlfriend asked me that question a year ago was “Wow, really? I’m not much of a public transport person, but I do have mass sex appeal…”
The phrase that day made me reevaluate my perception of what grooming means to me and what it means to the general population. It’s very common for individuals to make presumptions by the way we dress and present ourselves. Looking good should not be something only the female audience is accustomed to. 70% of our initial judgment is done via sight. The ability to dress and groom in a way that satisfies our individual needs also helps us to express our individuality and our beliefs. ManPossible is a medium that helps the male audience define and broaden the knowledge of everyday grooming. This is a hub, the “man cave”, where we guys come together and chat it up. It’s no longer beauty and the beast, it’s beauty within the beast.
