Some of you loyal MP readers can recall that a few of us recently took a trip to paradise (The Big Island of Hawaii) and shared some pics in a post titled, Paradise – Man-Pics. It was during this trip that we discovered the Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation farm. Being how obsessed our Chief Editor is with coffee, he actually paid money to roast his own coffee beans. Now, I’m not quite sure why someone would pay hard earned dollars to be a “coffee roaster” and roast your own coffee beans... hmmmm!... if you’re paying, shouldn’t they roast it for you? At least that's how most service industries work. But, this aside, it is through our Chief Editor’s experience that he discovered the secrets of coffee and grooming. [Sidebar – did you know that coffee cherry pickers have soft hands? One would think that given their labor intensive field work, their hands would actually be rough and tough… but the opposite is true. Coffee cherry extract is actually a natural softener and moisturizer.]
Thunder Mountain sells various “grooming” products, all using coffee as one of its main ingredients. Specifically, we fell in love with a moisturizing wonder, Kona Cream. It comes in a tiny elongated milk chocolate colored 8 oz bottle; it’s sold via here for $38.50. It is formulated with shea butter rich in vitamins, antioxidants, various botanical extracts, and of course, roasted Kona coffee extract. It claims to have a positive impact in anti-aging prevention and skin exposed to “environmental damage”, but we can’t vouch for those effects yet. What we can attest to is that it is an excellent moisturizer, especially for those sun exposed (burnt) skins. The coffee colored cream exudes a wonderful coffee aroma and makes you feel like you just took a bath in coffee water… just make sure your girlfriend / boyfriend, etc. loves coffee too. If you’re a coffee lover like us, it’s NOT a problem. On this wonderful first ever International Coffee Day, let us enjoy every drop of our favorite cup (or two, or three, or four, etc) of coffee… And while we’re at it, let’s make it an International Coffee Grooming Day with some soothing aromatic Kona Cream! [Grooming hack – did you know that used coffee grinds (after you’ve made yourself a cup of coffee) can be used to exfoliate your body?... use it to eliminate and gently scuff away those dead skin cells and rejuvenate! You will end up with the softest skin ever!] #coffee #InternationalCoffeeDay #mensgrooming by ManPossible
