Today, October 1, 2015, is the first official International Coffee Day as agreed upon by the International Coffee Organization and will be launched in Milan. [Sidebar – the US just celebrated it’s National Coffee Day 9/29.] The International Coffee Organization was established in 1963 in collaboration with the United Nations (UN) to enhance cooperation between nations that consume, distribute, and produce coffee. It now consists of 48 members; 40 are exporting nations, 7 are importing nations, and 1 is an importing community (the European Union). Blah blah blah… So why are we starting off with this info on coffee? Well, you know the team here at MP loves coffee and loves grooming (products). So in honor of the world’s first Coffee Day, we thought - why not use this opportunity to mix the two subjects together? |
Thunder Mountain sells various “grooming” products, all using coffee as one of its main ingredients. Specifically, we fell in love with a moisturizing wonder, Kona Cream. It comes in a tiny elongated milk chocolate colored 8 oz bottle; it’s sold via here for $38.50. It is formulated with shea butter rich in vitamins, antioxidants, various botanical extracts, and of course, roasted Kona coffee extract. It claims to have a positive impact in anti-aging prevention and skin exposed to “environmental damage”, but we can’t vouch for those effects yet. What we can attest to is that it is an excellent moisturizer, especially for those sun exposed (burnt) skins. The coffee colored cream exudes a wonderful coffee aroma and makes you feel like you just took a bath in coffee water… just make sure your girlfriend / boyfriend, etc. loves coffee too. If you’re a coffee lover like us, it’s NOT a problem.
On this wonderful first ever International Coffee Day, let us enjoy every drop of our favorite cup (or two, or three, or four, etc) of coffee… And while we’re at it, let’s make it an International Coffee Grooming Day with some soothing aromatic Kona Cream!
[Grooming hack – did you know that used coffee grinds (after you’ve made yourself a cup of coffee) can be used to exfoliate your body?... use it to eliminate and gently scuff away those dead skin cells and rejuvenate! You will end up with the softest skin ever!]
