9/10/2014 0 Comments To Be Or Not To Be...You might be wondering, WTF??? You are not alone. Given ManPossible’s establishment (it’s been a year!), it’s obvious that grooming is an essential practice to a guy’s daily life. However, the real question is, how many of us actually follow though when it comes to grooming? The majority of (us) men aren’t like our female counterparts. We don’t spend a good deal of time in front of a mirror trying to make ourselves look “pretty”. But if that is true, then does it mean grooming is unessential? To help answer that question, here’s a list of questions for your info wondering minds…. if you’re ever in the situation pondering whether to groom or not to groom.
1) “Do you live in a cave?” Seriously, do you live in a cave? If the answer is “Yes”, then the rest of the questions do not apply to you. You get off easy this time! But, if your answer is “No”… 2) “What is your purpose?” When was the last time you woke up and asked yourself: “what is my purpose for doing what I am about to do today?” A lot of us tend to be so wrapped up in everyday activities, that we often lose track of what’s really important to us. Sure you can go about doing the same thing you’ve been doing for however long you’ve been alive. OR, you can (for once in your life) decide to change it up and do something meaningful. If you choose the latter, then my friends, a proper groom can help make that difference. Okay, this one was a little too “deep”. 3) “Does your health matter to you?” Before we go any further, it’s best for us to clear up the meaning of grooming. When we talk about grooming, we are not necessarily or always referring to over-the-top obsession of grooming product usage. Grooming can also refer to the awareness and the act of improving one’s wellbeing through daily hygienic practice. The key is to not solely rely on the products, but rather a synergy of habitual practice and understanding of the various products to help improve one’s overall wellbeing. So, does your health matter to you? Sometimes a simple shave and a quick application of skin cream can make a big difference to the way you feel. Give it a try! It can make you feel like a million bucks. 4) “Do you wish to be (more) confident?” Ever heard of the term “confidence starts from within”? What this phrase is trying to tell you is that one’s confidence is determined by his state of mind. One way to help build confidence is through proper grooming. The act of running a super sharp blade across one’s skin takes practice, patience and most of all, confidence! Furthermore, the ability for one to shape and style his physical feature to bring out the best in him is the sole definition of confidence. When you are pleased with the way you look and feel, it eases the tension for everything else. And take it from me, so will your scent! Pheromones my friends! This will also make you confident. So, how confident are you? 5) “Does your image matter?” How often have you stood in front of the mirror and thought to yourself that you can do better? We often want to look sharp and dress nice when going out with our friends or significant others. This is part of Darwin’s Theory of Evolution… only the best groomed, survive! We want to be in our best physical state to command the attention of those around us. Even if you are an egocentric ape (like myself), the thought of wanting to look our best still applies. We want to be different, to stand out, and to grab the attention of the opposite sex, co-workers, bosses, audience, etc. All of which are our natural instincts for survival. So groom on! If you’ve answered “Yes” to any one of the above questions (even question 1), then it is time to start exploring and practicing the art of grooming. By being part of ManPossible, you have already taken the first leap of faith. You don’t have to go over the top and purchase the fanciest equipment. Sometimes a good shave, quick brush and light rinse can get the job. Remember, grooming is a state of mind and more importantly a lifestyle. So it really comes back to Shakespeare's famous words, "to be or not to be, that is the question"... he must've been contemplating about grooming! by ManPossible Photo used under Creative Commons from THOR and Rhys Davenport
