Today, I have a treat for everyone.  Well…it’s more of a treat for myself that I’d like to share with my ManPossible gents.  For Christmas, I was given the awesome gift of HARRY’S Engraved Winston shave set.  If you’ve read my previous posts, then you’d know I’ve never ever used a traditional razor in my life.  Before I pop that cherry and transition from electric shavers to pure awesomeness, let’s take a look at the gift set itself.


For those who are not familiar with HARRY’S, it’s a web-based retail store dedicated solely to offering consumers quality shaving products at an affordable price.  The founder of HARRY’S is also the cofounder of Warby Parker: A web-based retail store offering quality eye glasses at affordable prices…  Sure, I can continue with couple more paragraphs about HARRY’S, but since they weren’t the ones that sponsored my gift, let’s move on ahead with the product details. HARRY’S Winston Shave Set comes in a navy gray gift box with the words “HARRY’S SHAVE SET” engraved in shining silver across the top of the box.  Right off the top, the package gives off a look and feel of elegance.  After unhooking the rubber band tie seal, we move into the interior of the box.  At a first glance, the interior of the box is dissected into 3 parts, with custom inserts to hold the following:


1.       Razor Handle (with blade attached)

2.       H’ Shave Cream (3.4Fl. Oz. Tube)

3.       Small Shaving Blade Cartridge Box (Includes two Replacement Blades)

4.       HARRY’S Holiday Card (Input custom/personal messages)

5.       Small Slip Titled: “HARRY’S SHAVE GUIDE”

6.       Small Slip (on how to remove blade from handle)


Razor Handle

The Winston Razor Handle is “Harry’s first product line made by German engineers with decades of experience honing high-grade steel…  handles were designed to blend timeless simplicity and modern ergonomics” (Quoted from HARRY’S).  In the language of a simple man, the razor handle looks gorgeous and feels comfortable in the hands.  This definitely is not your everyday off-the-shelf razor blade.  The handle is sturdy and have some weight when gripping in the hand.  The back side of the smooth and shining steel is engraved with “H’” while the front allows customers to engrave up to 3 characters to give it that proper personal touch.  This, my friends, is one good looking “ManTool”.


Razor Blades

The replacement blades comes in a separate, grayish white box with HARRY’S labeled in the front and a drawing of a mammoth on top of the box.  Moving to the back, we see the words “Two Premium German Blades”.  Underneath the box resides the barcode along with the words “Give A Shave”.  Opening the container we see two spare razor blades resting in custom designed grooves fit to hold four blades.  The blade casing itself is made from plastic and has the same coloration as the gift set: navy gray.  Each replacement razor head is equipped with five micro-strip blades, each shaped in what Harry calls a “Gothic Arch” to give it a strong base and sharp tip.  At the top of the razor head rests a thin band of aloe vera and vitamin E to soothe and nourish the skin for a soft and silky finish.  I can’t wait to put it to work!


H’ Shave Cream

The H’s Shave Cream comes in a “toothpaste” tube shaped casing; just squeeze and use.  The front of the container shows a logo while the back lists out ingredients, barcode, and instructions.  HARRY’S emphasizes that its shaving cream embodies top notch ingredients to match its high quality razor.  To list a few ingredients: licorice and cucumber, marula and coconut oils, eucalyptus and peppermint…  My hat off to the fine lads behind this wonderful concoction.  Let’s be honest, every handsome man deserves only the finest product on his face!  I look forward to applying the cream to my skin.


In summary, I am very satisfied with the overall impression of HARRY’S Winston Engraved Set.  The box (outside and inside), the individual products and the little witty messages all embodies the characteristics of HARRY’S.  Everything about the package just speaks quality. For a lack of better analogy, when looking at the box and its contents, I feel as if I am an English gentleman with nothing but class.  The only thing for me to do now is to wait for my facial hair to grow out so I can get my shave on!... this however, may take a bit!  Stay tuned for ManPossible’s review of our hands-on experience with this baby!
