8/24/2015 0 Comments STOP!!!If movies and mainstream media have taught us anything, it’s that we need to keep on moving. It’s a rat race. We are that little four-legged Mickey Mouse running on all fours without a destination or direction. There is so much to do, so many people to please.
Look. We understand. It’s what life is about. People, especially successful people, work their butts off to achieve and maintain their status. As much as Sir Isaac Newton would like us to believe, apples don’t always fall... You reap what you sow. How do we know when it’s enough? What is the “perfect” number? Why are we doing what we are doing? We (MP) are no scholars, but we do know what makes us happy! It’s Saturday morning and I am sitting on my bright orange yoga mat at a beautiful park in Santa Monica. Right in front of me is an oasis of lush green grass, tall palm trees, and a playground!… Did I mention swings, slides, a teeter totter, and this huge mission control tower?!?! The energy is simply breathtaking. And to top it all, the weather is perfect - light warmth from the sun accompanies gentle cool breeze. I couldn’t have asked for anything better! The message I’m getting is simple: “We need to stop and enjoy the simple things around us.” This exact moment and this exact feeling can’t be quantified or measured; this is something that needs to be experienced! Looking up to the sky, the clouds are moving in rapid speed. I close my eyes and let my ears and nose be my guide. I hear the laughter of children, the creaking of swings, and the music of shivering leaves. I have a smile on my face… the kind that comes from your inner peace. At this exact moment I feel like a child again. Words can’t describe this moment, but this experience will stay with me forever! In case you were wondering, this isn’t an escape from reality. This is reality! We often find the most amazing things in the simplest of places. And the most profound experiences find us when we least expect it. When was the last time you felt at ease? Go out and get lost in the world around you. by ManPossible
