After a good year and a half of groom-ology, not only has our taste for grooming improved, but we’ve also reduced the behavior of taking products from hotel rooms [some of us]. In honor of our modest achievement, it’s only fitting that we dedicate this article to soaps. Not just any soap, but the Dove White Beauty Bar.
What’s the deal? Have the people at ManPossible gone soft? To that we say YES, YES we have gone soft, and all of that softness is contributed to the lovely Dove Bar. I’m going to be honest, since our very first soap article, I myself have primarily been using shower gels and multi-purpose shampoos. The stuff is easy to use (just a simple squeeze) and it usually is packed with various fragrant scents. However, there is just something about soap that I couldn’t “wash” out of my grooming mind. Maybe it was the simplicity or maybe it was the nostalgia, but I knew I had to go back to my dirty little secret. Lo and behold! Through accidental fate, I found the Dove Bar. This smooth and sturdy work of art feels good in your palm and does not leave any flaky residue. Unlike most showering products, the Dove bar does not emit any strong artificial fragrance of unicorn urine or fairy dust. What I did sense was a lightly scented aroma that reminded me of an open field. What makes this soap unique from the Paris soap we “took” from Vegas is the underlying ingredient. While the people at Las Vegas focused on getting their customers out of their room and on to the casino floor, the folks at Unilever had a different thought. The Dove White Beauty Bar is actually ¼ moisturizing cream, as stated by the fine print on the box. What this means is that this bar of soap will not leave your skin dry and flaky, but rather it will bring moisture back to your body. The experience was easy and natural. The foamy process is instantly initiated when you apply the sponge or the soap itself. As you move the soap across your body, you can feel the surface of your skin become smoother and slippery (in a good way). Be sure to have a firm grip on that soap or you just might end up dropping the soap! During the rinsing process, it’s advised that you use the sponge or your hands to apply a bit of force to scrub off all the dead skin cells and accumulated dirt. When you finish, you’ll notice that this soap not only does a good job of cleansing, but it also leaves your skin feeling rejuvenated. The best part was that this soap experience felt exactly the same as using a shower gel. Before we forget, it’s also wise to point out that if you are using the soap in the shower, be sure to apply it to your face FIRST because applying it elsewhere… if you know what we mean. To sum it up, we like soap. Soap is good. Soap is easy to use. It all started with soap. In this day and age where grooming products are usually judged by their packaging and out of this world scent, it’s rare and comforting to see that soap is still relevant. The Dove White Beauty Bar pays respect to this traditional product while giving it that modern touch. by ManPossible
