My Week As A Gatsby

Picture this: You are a male in your mid-twenties - tall, well built, work in a fast pace industry, and damn good looking.  And this week, you get to fully embrace your wild side with The Gatsby!

Spiky Edge Monday - “I hate Mondays!”.  Mondays are perhaps one of the most dreaded days of the week.  We have to drag ourselves back to work and mark the start of a five day work-a-thon.  That is precisely the same reason why you should start your week off with a positive attitude, starting with your hair.  Your weapon of choice - you go for the Gatsby Spiky Edge hair wax to help you get in the mood!  The Spiky Edge being the wax with the strongest hold, allows for a much more defined look as you style your hair.  This wax is best applied after you have thoroughly dried your hair, leaving very little moisture in the hair for shaping.  If you are feeling a bit more daring, use a blow dryer to give your hair a spiker and more rebellious look.  Your one of a kind hairstyle will assist you in differentiating yourself from the rest of the pack.  Stay hungry, but never worry about your hair!

Wild Shake Tuesday - Sure it’s only Tuesday, but for most people this is the day they finally get settled in for the work week (don’t let my Editor know).  However, you are not just anybody - you are The Gatsby Man!  For you, Tuesday marks the beginning of a fun filled day at work.  Your day starts with the usual weekly status call with the client, followed by a lunch meeting with a vendor and ends with you going out for dinner with your buddies.  There are just too many things going on today for you to justify stepping out the door with a boring hair style.  For this occasion, you opt to go with the Wild Shake.  The Wild Shake is what we like to call the little brother to the Spiky Edge; the hold strength is slightly less compared to the Spiky Edge.  However, it does provide a more versatile look for you to get through your day.  You can start the day with a clean comb-over look to prep for the office environment.  Before you head out on that vendor lunch, be sure to swing by the restroom to wet your hands and run it through your hair a few times to loosen it up a bit for a less stressful meeting.  Finally, as you wrap up your day and head out to dinner, run both hands through your hair to give it that wild and messy look for that slightly relaxed yet fun mood.

Air Rise Hump Day - Oh Baby!  Wednesday, the middle of the work week that offers endless possibilities…  Is the glass half empty or is it half full?  Whatever the answer may be, you are feeling good about today and ready to take on the world!  Nothing shows your lifted spirit like the Gatsby Air Rise.  This particular wax gives the hair an airy, feathery like appearance.  All you need is a small amount on your finger, mix it between your palms and incorporate it into your hair.  When applying, be sure to “lift” your hair to give it that extra volume.  What you have here is a nonchalant look, which pairs perfectly with your day.  As you walk around the office between meetings, you’ll definitely be getting admiring stares from everyone as they whisper to each other, “Hey, look at that cool guy!...  Gosh!  I wish I could be like him.  Did you see the calm and relaxed way he presented himself in that meeting?”  That’s him, Mr. Cool!  You sir are keeping it real and keeping it 100%.  Who says work should always be stressful and demanding?  All it takes is a good attitude and a little bit of Air Rise.  

Cool Wet Forecast (Thursday) - Remember how Cinderella had to return home before midnight, right before the spell wore off?  Thursday is equivalent to that last 2 hours before midnight.  That means, if you are looking to party, Thursday is the day.  Cool Wet, unlike its other siblings, is the odd one in the family.  What makes The Cool Wet (wax) different is that it’s more like a gel than a wax.  In my opinion, this is Gatsby’s take on their wetter version of the hair gel.  For that reason, what you do get with the Cool Wet is an added smooth and shiny texture to your hair.  For the best “wet” effect, make sure to rub the solution thoroughly between your fingers and apply in layers to get the under-layer and the hidden short hairs.  For both Thursday’s after-hour party, the Cool Wet definitely allows you to choose between a casual or sexy look.  With your hair done and set, all you have to do is loosen up the tie and unbutton that top button to your dress shirt and it’s game on!

Note: We had an awesome experience with the Gatsby Moving Rubber Hair Wax and hope that you enjoyed this interesting piece as much as we did.  However, there are couple of notes we’d like to mention (keeping it real for our men).  

1) Although the Gatsby wax is best known for its long lasting durability and ease of shaping, it is worth noting that the removal process of the hair wax does take some efforts with cleansing soap / shampoo to ensure no residues remain or build up.

2) As you wear the hair wax throughout your day, you’ll see noticeable amount of oil accumulating around the areas where you applied the wax.  We’re not certain why this is, but this can be solved by making several necessary trips to the restroom and wiping it off with paper towel (Wet & Dry) or utilizing Gatsby Oil Sheets!
