Look, we understand. Most of us are busy. The majority of us spend a good amount of our time working and when we are not occupied with work, we are using what little time we have left to recuperate from the tough day or week. Heck, I consider myself the prime example. I spend a good 2 – 3 hours just commuting to and from work. I then spend another 10 plus hours at work. If you do the math, it means half of my day is gone by the time I finish. When I get home I’m usually too tired to do anything.
While hanging out with a friend a couple of weeks ago, he told me about his new resolution of saying more “yes” than “no”. The concept is simple: when you are caught in a situation of deciding whether or not to do something, always try to say “yes”. Sure you might be tired, sure it might be inconvenient, but we are here to tell you that the pros will usually out weight the cons. So, how do we get started? The answer is quite simple, but will take some conviction and action. We are going to encourage everyone to do a little bit more throughout the day. Noticed how we didn’t say “workout”? That is because every one of us is different and each of our bodies require a different kind of stimulant to get the chemical endorphins going. Sometimes all you need is a walk around the neighborhood or to take the stairs instead of the elevator, or simply do a little dance to feel refreshed! The idea is to keep yourself active and always in motion. A lot of us spend a good amount of time sitting in front of a monitor holding a fixated position. More often than not, these bad habits will increase our chances of health issues (which of course, will lead to bad grooming habits). By changing our daily habits (even just a little), we can slowly break away from the unhealthy and move towards a better lifestyle. The best part is that you don’t have to be doing the extreme. Like all things in life, we recommend baby steps. We want you to take the time to figure out what activities best fit you and then find a way to incorporate it to your daily/weekly/monthly lifestyle. We won’t lie to you, it’ll take some effort to get the ball rolling, but when it’s in motion no one can stop it from its course. You will be amazed at how your attitude and overall gratitude will change for the better! Now get up and get out! Set 30 minutes to 1 hour aside each day to do something meaningful and active. The world is a big place, go experience all of it! by ManPossible Photo by CC from Endre Majoros
