2/25/2014 0 Comments Care for A Wash?Dove (a division of Unilever) has been fighting dry skin for a long time. Most women at ManPossible seem to be very familiar with Dove. Dove calls their soap bars “Summer Care” Beauty Bars or “Go Fresh” Cool Moisture Beauty Bars… so I guess they mean business. And they are no different when it comes to skin moisturizers for men. A couple of years ago, Dove decided to get into the moisturizing beauty game for the other half of the population, men. So Dove developed a slew of products specifically for men from body washes to bars to deodorants to face care and hair care stuff.
But today, I want to specifically talk about Dove Men+Care body and face wash. Off the bat, I found myself in an uneasy situation. There was too much to choose from - a total of 7 different types of body and face washes: Clean Comfort, Odor Guard, Aqua Impact, Clean Defense, Deep Clean, Fresh Awake, Extra Fresh. We’re men!!! What were they thinking? I mean most men don’t know the difference between a body wash and shampoo! We use them interchangeably! … for these reasons, ManPossible exists, but still a company like Unilever needs to think about the adaptability of average men… remember, we’re the stupid 50%. Anyway (back to the important stuff), with my thumb in my mouth, I blindly chose Extra Fresh. Actually, this bottle was sent to me! Here’s the description: Dove® Men+Care® Extra Fresh Body and Face Wash with MICROMOISTURE technology is clinically proven to fight skin dryness better than regular men’s body wash. This ultra-light formula delivers extra refreshment with a cooling agent, then rinses off easily for total skin comfort.
The gel like green wash was easy to apply, even without a sponge or loofah (look that up boys)... cuz most men will squeeze that right onto their hands. The cooling “agent” was a bit unexpected at first, but became a welcoming sensation, especially during a morning shower. It also felt a little weird as the lathered gel slowly made it’s way down to your Numero Uno. I’m still not quite sure if it was good or bad. The lather washed off easily, but did leave behind a hint of a cheap cologne scent (may be some won’t mind). Otherwise it was a very refreshed and clean feel. Overall, I love what Dove is doing for the stupid 50%. Big companies are finally starting to think about men. The only complaint was the amount of choices for a body wash, the scent (for me), and the dull residue like feel it left on your hair (i.e. under arm hair and/or your head, if you have washed your hair with it… after all why wouldn’t you, most men will attempt to use body wash on their hair, hint hint... Dove - Unilever). by ManPossible
