Good Boy!

In all the hype these days about shaving razors and how smooth they can leave your skin or all the shave clubs where you can save money on razors, no one seems to talk much about the shaving creams, which are equally important in the overall shaving formula.  We've covered several shaving creams before, including one of our favorites, Jack Black Beard Lube.  But since we were all good boys last year, PRZMAN sent us their new Good Boy Magical Shave Cream to see if it can do any justice on our mugs.
First off, the packaging for all PRZMAN products is simple yet cool.  Sticking with their theme, it’s the usual black box with big white text.  Inside the box is a 4.05 oz (.05?  really?) pump dispenser that holds the magical shave cream.  Also on the pump dispenser is a picture of a K9 dog.  We’re speculating that this might have something to do with the name, “good boy”?  The cream is designed for all skin types.  To protect and to boost hydration, soothing aloe vera, moisturizing coconut oil, and olive oil were added to the mix.  Its 100% natural and free from artificial fragrances and colors yet, the cream boasts a very pleasant citrusy aroma.  We somehow found the aroma familiar and later concluded that its aroma resonated with the traditional Colgate shaving foam.  Not in a bad way though.

In our first attempt, it took us a good 20 or so pumps to get the cream pumping through the dispenser.  A little warm up before the shave!  The cream itself has a lotion consistency to it and once rubbed on the beard, it lathers up nice and even.  We were actually pretty impressed with how consistent and rich the cream was.  One thing we found it to be cumbersome and annoying was getting the cream “pumped” during our second application.  We are not sure if it was a faulty pump or what, but we had to shake the bottle repeatedly and tap it gently on the table to get the cream dispensed.  We’ve seen similar issues on some lotion bottles where the thick lotion does not settle nicely at the bottom because of some air pockets.  Perhaps it’s the wrong mechanical configuration for this product!  We spent over 3 minutes trying to get the cream out!

Overall, the cream preformed well.  By the way, we used the Gillette Fusion razor to shave.  Good Boy can be found online at manhoodtv.com where all the PRZMAN products live happily ever after for $14.  So fellas, if you have been a good boy like we have, and are in search of a new shaving cream to try, consider this “bad” boy.  Happy grooming ya’ll!
